Schochor, Federico and Staton, P.A. Partner James D. Cardea & Associate Tara Clary Recognized for Top 100 Jury Verdicts in America for Medical Malpractice – 2019
Schochor, Federico and Staton, P.A. is pleased to announce that firm partner James D. Cardea and associate Tara Clary have been recognized by Top Verdict for the 2019 Top 100 Jury Verdicts in America for Medical Malpractice. The $1.75 million verdict was obtained on June 25, 2019 against Ellen Lemkin, MD and Osler Drive Emergency Physicians Associates.
The case involved a 65-year-old gentleman who presented to St. Joseph Medical Center’s ER for evaluation after suffering chest pain. The patient had a significant cardiac history and multiple risk factors for an aortic dissection. Despite this history, Dr. Lemkin diagnosed the patient with a simple muscle strain and sent him home instead of admitting him for a cardiac evaluation. The patient died the following day from an aortic dissection.
About Top Verdict
Top Verdict annually recognizes U.S. law firms and attorneys who have obtained one of the highest jury verdicts, settlements, or court awards in the U.S. or an individual state, in a particular area of law. Unlike many other publications, Top Verdict recognizes attorneys and law firms based on historic facts and not on the subjective opinions of others. Rather than selecting attorneys, Top Verdict recognizes their specific, factual achievement(s). In addition, Top Verdict recognizes the narrowest circle of achievers in the legal industry instead of selecting thousands of lawyers.
