On Thursday, February 19, Schochor, Federico and Staton Founding Partner Philip C. Federico will be speaking in Orlando at the Florida Justice Association’s annual Workhorse Seminar on the theme of handling and litigating abuse cases.
A recognized leader in medical malpractice law and frequent lecturer, Mr. Federico’s talk will focus on class action cases that involve both medical malpractice and sexual assault at the hands of healthcare providers.
Mr. Federico will include lessons from the recent $190 million class action settlement(preliminarily court approved and subject to final court approval) Schochor, Federico and Staton negotiated on behalf of 8,000 patients of Dr. Nikita Levy, a former Johns Hopkins a gynecologist who secretly photographed and videotaped women during examinations, as the lead counsel of the steering committee.
In November 2012, the firm represented victims of Dr. Earl Bradley, a Delaware pediatrician accused of molesting over 900 children in his care. The result was a $123 million settlement that was spearheaded by Schochor, Federico and Staton.
