In 1984, Jonathan Schochor, Philip Federico and Kerry Staton founded the law firm of Schochor, Federico and Staton, P.A. with the goal of offering exemplary representation to individuals who are the victims of medical malpractice and negligence.
And in the more than 25 years since, we have earned a reputation for doing exactly that.
Schochor, Federico and Staton has been designated with the highest rating afforded by Martindale-Hubbell, and is listed in the Bar Register for Preeminent Lawyers. These ratings, granted by peers and judges, are awarded only to firms that consistently provide service that adheres to the highest ethical standards and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the law. The five senior partners, Jonathan Schochor, Philip Federico, Kerry Staton, James Cardea and Scott Kurlander, have also been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America.
We've earned these accolades while building one of the largest and most successful medical malpractice firms in the region. With offices in Maryland and Washington D.C., the firm's resources include a team of full-time medical investigators and medical professionals throughout the United States. Over the lifetime of the firm, we have filed more medical negligence cases than any other lawyer or law firm in Maryland, and we've recovered over $500 million dollars on behalf of our clients. Our lawyers also share their knowledge and experience lecturing and teaching locally and nationally to members of both the legal and medical professions regarding medical malpractice and medical negligence.
But what we're most proud of is the impact we have made for our clients. The work we do eases the burden on victims of medical negligence, helps them restore their quality of life, and allows them to move on with their lives.
We have offices in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Our lawyers are licensed to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and they have been specially admitted on a case-by-case basis by courts in Florida, Nevada, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, North Carolina and West Virginia. On special motion and with approval of courts elsewhere, our lawyers are available to participate in cases throughout the United States.
